LEXINGTON, S.C., May 1, 2006 – Cooper Power Tools today announced the availability of the new Master Power® MP5187 Lightweight Needle Scaler, the lightest tool on the market for general industrial scaling applications. Quickly ridding areas of rust, dust, old paint or weld slag, the MP5187 scrapes foreign substances from the surface, and provides a clean, smooth working surface to improve overall efficiency.
The lightweight, ergonomic design of the MP5187 greatly reduces operator fatigue. Weighing only 2.5 pounds, the Scaler is nearly half the weight of standard model scalers that deliver a similar number of blows per minute (BPM). Measuring less than nine inches, the MP5187 includes twelve 3mm precision heat-treated needles enclosed in a round housing unit, allowing for a maximum performance of 12,000 BPM.
The design and versatility of the MP5187 produces maximum efficiency. It improves the ability to work within tight spaces, and allows operators to maneuver into corners and close quarters accordingly. Optionally, it also can be converted to a chisel scaler.
